Ambassador Ali Sarwar Naqvi, Executive Director CISS, alongside Research Officers Murad Ali and Maryyum Masood, recently participated in a talk show on Such TV hosted by Dr. Munawwar Hussain. The discussion, titled “Pakistan’s Response to Political, Economic, and Strategic Shifts on Regional and Global Canvas; Opportunities and Challenges,” provided a platform for an in-depth analysis of pressing issues. During the show, Amb. Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to fostering stability in South Asia, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with both the United States and China. Murad Ali, voicing his concerns, pointed out that the United States should be mindful of how its defence cooperation with India could potentially have adverse impacts on Pakistan. Adding a different dimension to the conversation, Maryyum Masood, shed light on the need for international regulation of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems (LAWS). She stressed that failing to regulate these technologies could lead to significant global security challenges, underscoring the urgency of the issue.
