The Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS), Islamabad, hosted a dialogue with Australian scholars and officials to discuss regional developments.
In the dialogue, CISS scholars warned that India’s so-called “new normal” military doctrine is destabilizing in a nuclear environment. They argued that New Delhi’s narrative seeks to normalise unilateral military strikes under the cover of counterterrorism and signals a readiness to test Pakistan’s nuclear thresholds through limited conventional operations such as Operation Sindoor. This approach, they noted, increases the risk of miscalculation and crisis escalation.
